Somatic Bodywork

Somatic Bodywork is a gentle, hands-on approach that helps you reconnect with your body, release stored tension, and regulate your nervous system. Whether you’re holding onto stress, grief, anxiety, or simply feel disconnected—this work meets you exactly where you are.

How it Works

Every session begins with a short conversation about your goals and your relationship to emotions in the body. You will not be asked to retell your trauma—profound healing is possible without reliving the past.

You'll remain fully clothed and lie on a Thai massage mat. The practitioner will use still touch, gentle rocking, and subtle movements (inspired by Thai Massage) to release tension in areas like the shoulders, neck, pecs, low back, hips, and legs.

During the process, you’ll be gently invited to sense into your body and stay present with your experience—no need to fix, force, or perform. Just breathe.

Why It’s Different

This isn’t a typical massage. There’s no oil, no pressure to “relax,” and no rush.

Somatic Bodywork is trauma-informed, nervous system–focused, and consent-led. It honours your pace and respects your boundaries. You’re an active collaborator in your healing, not a passive recipient.

A sense of calm and clarity

  • Emotional release (tears, laughter, sighs, etc.)

  • Greater body awareness

  • Reduced anxiety or mental noise

  • Improved sleep, digestion, and energy flow

Every body responds differently—and that’s the point. Your body leads.

Client Experiences

FAQs

Will my benefits cover this?

Check with your provider to see if Holistic Practitioners are included. You’ll receive a receipt with a license number for insurance claims.

Do I need to talk about my trauma?

No. The work happens through the body. You won’t be asked to share your story or revisit difficult memories.

What should I wear?

Loose, comfortable clothing—like yoga or lounge wear. You’ll stay fully clothed throughout the session.

Is this a massage?

Not in the traditional sense. While it includes gentle bodywork, the focus is on emotional release and nervous system regulation—no oils or deep pressure.

What if I don’t feel emotions or end up crying?

Both are welcome. You might release emotions through physical sensations—even without feeling "emotional." Tears, stillness, or subtle shifts are all part of the process.

Is the mobile version the same?

Yes. Same experience, just brought to your space. All equipment is provided.
